Inspect for fluid leaks: engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, diesel — check ground beneath machine and all hose connections

Test work lights, and hazard beacon — all operational

Check hydraulic oil level is within operating range

Test horn — audible at safe distance

Inspect quick-hitch coupler (if fitted) — safety latch engaged, no visible damage, correct operation confirmed per manufacturer procedure

Inspect track shoes — no excessive wear, bent or cracked pads

Inspect boom, stick (dipper arm), and attachment — no cracks, deformation, or weld failures

Check mirrors — clean, correctly adjusted, undamaged
